pastor, the Mission have appealed for some special consideration in the matter and taking all the circumstances into account, I think their appeal is reasonable.

I would therefore submit for your favourable consideration that the cross-hatched portion of the area coloured red on plan 2 comprising about 12,570 Square Feet should be sold to them, without public auction, on the following terms: -
(a.) Term of lease 70 years, commencing from the date.
of a letter notifying the approval of the Secre- -tary of State, renewable for one further term of 7b years at a Crown Rent to be fixed by the Survey- -or of His Majesty the King.
(b.) Premium 3500 or approximately 4 cents per Square
Foot, to be paid into the Treasury within 7 days of the date of the letter mentioned in (a). (c) Crown Rent 850 per acre, commencing from the date
of the letter mentioned in (a).
(a.)
Á sum of not less than $7,500 to be expended on buildings which are to be completed within 24 months of the date of the letter mentioned in (a). (e.) The purchaser to construct substantial retaining
walls where necessary to obviate landslips in the event of his cutting away the hill to level the lot.
(f.) In the event of the purchaser constructing any
buildings fronting on the Western boundary of the lot, he will be permitted to form a path on Crown Land between the said boundary and the nullah to westward of same for access to such buildings. Such path to be formed to such levels as the Director of Public Works may require and to be surfaced and fenced to the satis faction of that officer.
